We are Milngavie Football Club (MFC), which was a natural progression from Milngavie Boys Club which was formed in 1988, which has been developed within the town of Milngavie over the years.
Football at youth level has now been recognised to be an integral part of Scottish football. It has also been recognised that younger ages should be taught the game in a more coherent, tolerant and organised manner.
The Scottish Youth Football Association (SYFA) has responsibility for the administration, education, development and discipline of the game at this level. We now also have an Over 35s under the responsibility of The Scottish Amateur Football Association (SAFA) and Girls Section under Scottish Women’s Football (SWF).
Our aim is to develop their footballing and social skills through coaching and enjoyment of football, and being part of the team. The club follows the SYFA Player Pathway, beginning with our Mini Kickers section, progressing through to Fun Fours, and onto 7-a-side for 8 – 10, then 9-a-side, before finally moving onto full sized 11-a-side football.
The club currently has around 50 teams over all the age groups, from the mini kickers right up to the Walk Football group. We also have our two Disability classes, an ever-growing girl’s section, as well as our own in-house Goal Keeping Academy.
